The Audio CD Labeller Extension allows you to use more meaningful names for your audio CDs. The MacOS generically labels audio CDs with the names "Audio CD 1" to "Audion CD N" where the digit increases once for every CD you put into your CD-ROM drive.
Installation:
Drag the Audio CD Labeller file onto your active System Folder and restart your Macintosh.
Usage:
This version of the Audio CD Labeller system extension allows you to use the information that you've typed into the AppleCD Audio Player application to name your Audio CDs. To name a specific CD, insert the CD, open the AppleCD Audio Player, and enter the name of the CD in the "Disc" edit field (which initially has the name "Audio CD" in it). Now every time you insert that Audio CD, Audio CD Labeller will use that text as the label for the CD. The "Disc" edit field in the AppleCD Audio Player allows you to enter names that are longer than the MacOS allows for disc labels, Audio CD Labeller handles this case by appending a trailing "..." to names that are longer than the MacOS allows (currently this limit is 27 characters).
Notes:
For all users of non-English versions of the MacOS, make sure you download the correct version of the Audio CD Labeller extension for your version of the MacOS. If there isn't a version for your language, and you are comfortable using ResEdit, change STR resource #128 to the name of the "CD Remote Programs" file as it exists in your system. The CD Remote Programs file is in your System Folder:Preferences: folder. If you are not comfortable using ResEdit, e-mail the name of the file (as it exists in your language) to support@voncheesebiscuit.com, and I will make the change and send you a version of the Audio CD Labeller that will work on your system.
